Battery disconnect switch light

On my Intellitec Battery Disconnect panel the red light is on all the time when I am connected to 110 house power, both when I am in STORE or USE mode. Is that right?

Yes, that's correct. You can't turn it off when you're on shore power.

A caveat - if you put your Use/Store switch in Store Mode and have a power failure your refrigerator won't switch and run on propane (if on automatic setting) as it needs 12v power.

We installed an upgraded smart 4 stage charger. If you done have a smart charger you will over charge the batteries and smoke them! Bad seen and they will smell like rotten eggs.

Perfectly normal.

The stupid light DOES NOT tell you the state of the battery switch.

It's wired to simply tell you that you have 12 volt power available for your 12 volt appliances. It has NO idea if your batteries or convertor are providing the power.

After a lot of analysis and research, I found out that there is no other way to make it work, because the relay that the use/store switch actually controls is a mechanically latching relay that provides NO indication of its position. You have to hit the switch to the appropriate selection and listen for the 'clunk' noise to verify something happened....

I'm replacing that POS with a real Blue Sea latching battery contactor and associated switch/indicator that tells me if it is activated or not...

As I understand it, the light lights when shore power is detected.
It doesn't matter if it's in "use" or "store".

Just 12 volt power present...doesn't care if its battery or convertor supplying it.
