Dumb,dumb, and dumber

Okay this is going to top it off on questions. I just made a reservation at a rv park and I still have not got all the electrical stuff down pat. I was asked if we needed 30 or 50 amp electric. Anyway what I reserved was 50 amp will this work?

I think your TT has a 30 amp connection. What does the power plug look like?

Plenty of power

The answer is "YES", but you may need an adaptor plug for the extension cord you have on your trailer.

If you don't have a 50 Amp adaptor plug, can't you call the CG and get your reservation changed to a 30 Amp site?

Have FUN

You can always call Dave - but only as a last resort. But seriously, the CG should be able to assist you when you arrive. I believe that 30 amps is sufficient for your AS. An adaptor plug would help in the future if you have to reserve a space that only provides 50amp service so you may as well have one.

aren't all Vintage Airstreams 30 Amp? Maybe way back they were 15 Amp. I can't imagine older trailers being 50 Amp--you'd need to have two air conditioners and an electric oven to justify that much power.

Becky,
Cross your fingers and hope Most if not all RV parks I have stayed in, the 50 amp sites were also wired for 30amp. Your Airstream should be 30amp. Call the campground and ask if there is a 30amp plug on the 50amp site or see if they can move you. Typically there is a slight upcharge on the 50am sites.

I'm going to call back Monday, the lady I have talked to is kinda rude and seemed a little rushed. Maybe when I call back i'll get somebody else. Must be her pms day.

I was just told that the 30 amp drawinf I posted is not 100% acurate. The correct drawing would show the H and N prongs as being the same size. It is close, but not 100%, sorry about the error. Thanks to markdoane for finding that!

You want to get the reservation changed to 30 amp most of these CG charge you for 50 amp. My guess it will be the same spot and the pole will have both the 30 and 50 amp plug ins on it.
How long are you going to stay in this park with the rude lady at the front desk? Maybe that is a tip off to the kind of service and welcome you will get when you arrive.

Chaplain,
We are only going to be there one night, we are going to a concert at there casino so the rv park is right there otherwise we would have made other plans since the lady was so rude. I just can't understand why places hire and keep folks that work with the public that are rude. We also have another lady at our little local campground that is the queen of all rudeness if she is reading the paper she keeps doing it while you ask her a question. So here lately we just go and find our spot and wait till the nice little ranger comes down and we pay him, I never go the the lodge anymore because of her.
