Where would I start looking for a bathroom fan?

A photo would be helpful. My 86 has a 4" round fan in the shower stall with a push up, pull down exterior cover over it. My 66 has the standard 14" roof vent in the sleeping area, but nothing in the bathroom. There are just all kinds of ventilation fans available for RVs. I don't know what Airstream put in the 69s.

Is the fan gone or the motor not working?

Well, it sounds like your 69 has a bath fan similar to my 86. Mine has a handle that is pushed up to open the vent. Then it has a rotary switch that turns on the fan motor. The fan blades are plastic. The fan blade is just pressed on to the motor shaft. The motor shaft has a flat on it that drives the fan blades.

The fan motor will not run unless the vent lid is pushed all the way up. The fan blades it the vent lid. If the fan motor was turned on, but can not rotate, it will trip a circuit breaker or fuse.

A rusty motor does not surprise. Does the motor run? Does the fan blade turn when the motor runs? Can you describe the problem so troubleshoot the problem you are experiencing?

I think 12v fan motors, rotary switches and fan blades are readily available at RV dealers or on line RV parts sellers. These parts are not Airstream exclusive.

Hi we just rejuvenate yours, you can have the motor rebuilt an an electric repair place. I had mine glass beaded, repainted and the motor brushes replaced. Then we replaced the twist switch with the stubby three way switch available at Vintage trailer supply. I'll try to find pics for you

Time to replace the unit with a modern bathroom vent fan. You can get it from Vintage Trailer Supply Part # VTS-152 $69.95 or your local RV store.
