Back from the dead sort of

Will a Univolt II (1967 ish) bring back a deep cycle that was reading about 3 volts?? It seems to be, but then again, batteries are not my thing.....

Most of the 12 volt system seems to work now that there is a battery in the circuit.

Tedd, there are special chargers to bring back badly discharged or sulfated batteries, if the Univolt won't get the job done, maybe a trip to your local auto and truck battery distributor with the battery for them to see what they can do will be in order.

Well the old Univolt was up to the challange. After about three hours of charging the battery was at 12.5 Volts. Left it off over night and checked the battery this morning, 12.5 volts!!! Yea!!! (Bringing this wrecked Overlander back from the dead for some short camping trips is fun) Turned the power back on this morning to let it finish off the charging.

I will get a gravity tester (Isn't that a bathroom scale??? ) and keep an eye on the battery condition.

Thanks Terry and Norby.
