Any Idears?

I have a '75 Argosy 28'. I am working on attaching the wiring to the tow vehicle. The white wire in the Argosy runs back to the Univolt, and is supposed to be a ground. However, when I try to attach the wire as a ground to a ground I get spark and a bit of voltage, then the wire becomes quite warm to the touch. Any idears?

Welcome to the forums.
Airstream used different plug configurations over the years and there is no way of telling what the PO (previous owner) may have changed. Metering out the wires may be the safest thing to do at this time....
