Adding a 120V outlet beside polarity light box

Perhaps you guys can steer me right here with this question.

on my 76 sovereign I have the polarity light box just beside the hot water heater.

There are two wire casings coming into that box. The polarity light is connected to the combined grounds (from each casing) and the neutrals and the hot wires from each casing are just connected together.

I would like to add an electrical outlet on the inside of the trailer in that location.

My question is can I just pull hot and neutral and ground off that box to run an outlet inside the trailer beside the polarity box?

Thanks in advance.

If that is original wiring, and you can check it black to ground should be hot, then yes you can parallel another receptacle of those connections. Keep in mind that the new receptacle will be on the same circuit breaker as what ever was feed from that box.

Yes you can. Airstream did just that in some models.
