A/C switch for dash, run genset while driving?

Hi, our new to us 2005 30 Land yacht dash a/C fan switch doesn't work on position 3,the highest speed. Any known source for these? We are built on a workhorse frame.

Could we run the Onan 5500 air cooled generator to run the coaches a/C while driving? Any issues with the alternator and the converter charging at the same time?
Any helpful information greatly appreciated!
Awesome rv and great forum folks!

The make and model of the A/C would be more helpful. But most likely the part is available, you just have to call the manufacturer (probably Dometic).

I did this all the time in my B190. No problem at all with two things charging the coach system.

Thanks for the Onan info... Still chasing the cab a/C fan issue, really learning the dash & under hood!

I misunderstood your question - I thought you were talking about the rooftop air conditioner, not the dash a/c.

This is generic advice; I have no experience with your chassis: I'd do a little troubleshooting with a voltmeter to see if it's the switch, or perhaps the fan resistor (they often go bad in some vehicles, although usually the highest speed still works), before trying to buy a new switch.

Dash a/c fixed, found it

Got the wiring diagram for 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, and the high speed fan relay was located up high under the hood driver side. The relay was OK, but the 87a relay socket was good enough to read 12vdc but not good enough to run the high speed fan. Changed it and life is good in the cab now. Also unkinked the hoses and lots more air now by taking out the center dashboard locker.
Yipee....
