69 Overlander AC not turning on

We arrived in TN to pickup our 69 Overlander to find that the AC unit will not turn on. There is shore power to the coach.

My thoughts are to confirm 120v to the AC and 12v to the thermostat to start.

Then what?

Not sure of the A/C model in your Overlander, but if it has a "fan only" setting - does the FAN run without A/C?

In any case, your most likely candidates for failure to turn on are the "Start" Capacitor and "Run" Capacitor. The parts don't cost much. Good luck!

If it has the original Armstrong AC they are spoken very highly of. They are fixable if you have a good AC guy who knows what they are doing.

Also if it is an Armstong unit it does not have a 14" square hole cut in the roof. It has holes for the gas lines, power line, and blower motor shaft.

Does it look like a modern RV AC unit, or a metal box up there?
Not all those who wonder are lost.
