2016 FC23D USB outlet next to DVD player

I've noticed that my phone wasn't being charged when it's connected to USB outlet on our 2016FC23D.
Two USB outlets are located in the cabinet next to DVD player.

Questions:

Is it something I can repair?

Is it easy to upgrade to new USB? (more current?)

Thanks,

Atsushi

If the one USB connector you are using is on a cable then that is only for input only to the sound system.

The one I'm talking about is two USBs it's flush with the DVD player mounting wall. I used to be able to charge my phone, but nothing happens when I plug it in there.

I changed my USB port to a regular 12 volt cigarette lighter type and use one of the USB adapters for phone charging and the regular outlet for other 12 volt portable accessories. It was fairly easy to replace the USB outlet, but requires removal of the DVD cabinet.

Is it just a matter of removing some screws?

Basically, yes. Some may be out of sight and/or behind screw head covers. IIRC the DVD player is only held in place by velcro.

Our 2016 Serenity, 27' has a USB port in the dvd cabinet, likely just like yours...and it failed. I decided to replace it with:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I removed the 3 cabinet screws enough to twist the cabinet around so I could reach a hand to the backside of the USB. One thing I found after cussing trying to twist off the retainer ring was that all I really needed to do was twist it about a quarter turn, and then pull out the existing USB unit from the front. Then I cut the two wires and connected those to the new USB, pushed it back into the cabinet hole (exact same diameter and flat spots!), gave the restraining ring a quarter turn to secure the hub. Didn't really need to install the two screws because the hole flat spots keeps the hub from turning. Then carefully reinstall the DVD cabinet so as not to disrupt any of the many wires.

Soon thereafter, one of the two USB hubs in the bedroom cabinet between the twins, failed, so I replaced both of them with these replacements, and much quicker knowing about those quarter turn retaining rings.

Easy job, and you might consider replacing all the USB ports now, because I think the standard ones are not very good and will likely fail.
