2012 Flying Cloud 25FB Batteries?

I have a 2012 25 with the standard Interstate SRM-24 batteries.

It looks like they need to be replaced. Could I drop 6V golf cart batteries into that compartment without changing the converter or altering the size of the compartment?

The existing batteries are rated for 84 amp hours and it would be nice to increase that figure as much as possible.

I appreciate any suggestions you might have! j

I doubt it. Members who have switched have to raise the lid with C channels.

2 grp 27s should fit if you insert them sideways to the centerline of the trailer.

See post #18 on this thread for photos. The box lid has to be raised:

If you have a front compartment door, you cannot raise the battery box top, the bottom has to be lowered.

Just upgraded to Lifeline 27's

I recently replaced the 2 stock size 24 stock Interstate batteries on my 23' International FB with size 27 Lifeline gel batteries (rated at 100 AH each). As was described, I had to drill out the cover rivets and bend back the front lip of the box (the height was fine though).

I have a solar setup, and needed more boondock capacity. I can post pics, if you want.
