1976 Rear Bath Lights

The lights in the rear bath of our 29' AS all went out at the same time. The fuse is OK. I suspect that a wire nut worked loose somewhere in the wall/celing. I would like to avoid removing the central celing pannel. Any ideas where to look?

There is no wire nuts in the ceiling.

Try taking the fuse out, and look at it very carefully.

Sometimes they look OK, but in fact can be blown.

That's the group of lights handled by the purple wire in the fusebox. Do you have the original fusebox and Univolt 120V AC to 12V converter?

Talking Thank you Andy.

That was it. I am still using the original 12V panel but changed all of the fuses two months ago. When the lights went out I checked the fuse. The fuse was new and looked good so I thought that something down the line had disconnected. When I put in a new fuse everything lit up.

Recommend that you check that the large screw that holds that purple wire in the fuse block is snug.

Also, it would be good to do a test: after you have had those bathroom lights (and the rear sleeping quarters lights too, if it's a rear bath) burning for several hours, with your hand, check the temperature of the fuse block where the purple wire comes in. Do it carefully, because it may be very hot.

If that is so, then your old fuse block has lost its temper and needs replacement. Most of the RV parts dealers that are active on airforums carry new ones.
