1969 Safari

Having just towed home our 1969 Safari double which we plan on gutting anyway, I believe the univolt was removed. I can find the fuse panel in the trunk, but cannot locate anything that even resembles a converter. Where would I find this? And, assuming it is missing, what would be the suggested replacement? Anyone have a picture of this "gizmo" they can send my way? What a challenging project this will be.

Thanks.

Terry

The Univolt on the vintage you have is a bit hard to find. Looking in the rear door, look into the left corner under what is the closet next to the toilet inside. The Univolt is normally a steel chassis box that is about the size of a breadbox. The case will be full of holes for ventilation.

Your coach may not have had a univolt as OE, sometimes these things were part of an upgrade package.

Replacement with a charge wizard or something along those lines will allow you to control what the charger is doing to the battery and should allow for a longer battery life.

Thanks Brett. I will check that out this afternoon. I was looking on the curbside. I appreciate the quick response.
