12 Volt white ground wire?

Hey Guys, I have a 2008 16' Bambi that I just did a shell off to replace the damaged floor. I have it almost all back together and I am baffled about 1 wire. The power distribution box is located under the bed in the rear curbside area. I have the red (Positive) and the white (ground) wire that comes from the front area (Battery) through the floor next to the distribution box and they join in the fuse panel + and -. There is also a heavy white (ground) wire that is attached to the frame at the bumper area. I had this one marked but now its not. Does this white wire also attach to the negative post in the distribution box? I just do not remember where it went? Any help would be great!

The white wire to your trailer frame enables current to flow through the frame which is grounded through the negative bus bar back to the battery completing the circuit. If you have access to the bus bar and want a more direct route, it's okay to ground it directly rather than through the frame.

Not sure about AS, but a trailer I owned had one ground wire for the lights, and a second ground for the electric brakes.

The white wire is bolted to the rear of the frame and enters into the interior close to the 12volt/110v Power distribution panel. I was thinking it mounted to the negative post in the panel. That's the only obvious place, I just cannot remember where it goes

Yes, sounds like the white wire grounds your frame to the negative bus bar. The - bus bar will have the - battery cables connected to it.

DC wire color convention in the USA is as follows:

Positive: RED............Negative: Black or Yellow (for marine)
Positive: Black...........Negative: White
Positive Any Color (except red)........Negative: White

Please note that Euro specifications vary a great deal from ours with a consistent brown for ground (earth) and positive any other color.

When in doubt, always use your meter to determine the proper polarity.

Thanks for the replies. I did know this wire was a ground, was just looking for its proper location. As I mentioned I had it marked but in the shell install the tape came off......Thanks again!
