12 volt problems

I was camping this weekend and when i went to turn on the water pump or the panel lights on my 74 overlander it did not come on and all the other gauges would not work either soon as i turned it off the other gauges worked again i checked my water pump by hooking it direct and seemed to work fine also does not seem to charge my battery when i plug into shore power this was all working fine before i towed it a few hundred miles thanks john

Check the battery connections. Also check for power from your converter when plugged in. From the symptoms it sounds like you have bad connections. Remove the connections from the battery and clean both the wire end connections as well as the terminals on the battery.
If it still will not charge, look for a blown or lose fuse.
All of the symptoms lead to bad connections and voltage drop.

Also check your fuses in the converter. I had the same problem once, and it was just a blown fuse.
