Young in Texas

Hello there every one. my name is stephanie patillo. i live in spring branch texas, my mom recently obtained a 1978 airstream. she will be moving to austin and selling our house, so being the loving and caring mother she is, i now call it my soon to be home. its in great shape and i love it more then anything... but it could use a face lift. being young and broke it will be very hard to do a total overhaul on it. but im a hard worker and my boyfriend is a handy man. with the little money i have i would like to paint the inside with out having to strip everything. as well as put down new flooring and curtains. there are also a few walls and cabinets that need work. iive already seen alot of info that will help me. but if you have any advice about cheap methods of restoring a 1978 airstream sov. im all ears.
thanks -Stephanie lynn

Silver Home

Your options are wide open.
Explore the restoration sections...
Many about the interiors
Look at all trailers and motorhomes for ideas.
Lots of easy and less expensive ways to do everything.
Tough part is going to be deciding on a theam.

Welcome to the Forums, Stephanie Lynn. We're glad to have you with us.

You can do a lot face lift to your Airstream if you are willing and able to perform the labor yourself. Most of the cosmetic stuff is done the same way as you would do it in a house. You can even splurge a bit on some of the things like the flooring. You can buy the top of the line, and since you need so little, it still won't cost a bunch. Have fun with your project. You can turn the old girl into something really special.

Glad to finally have some younger airstreams...My wife and I were starting to feel isolated.

Restoration is a great deal of work, just make sure you dod it right by fixing the frame and floor if there is damage to it. You sould be rolling before you know it.

Steve
