Yet Another Newbie

Hi everyone, I'll be taking possession of a 1977 Overlander tomorrow. (Or maybe it'll be possessing me considering the work needed.) Can see the outline of a WBCCI number of 10704. I'll be scouring the forums for info as I head down the restoring/repairing/refurbishing road.

thanks,

Randy

Hey Randy! We just bought a '72 Sovereign and we're going to go pick her up this weekend. We haven't picked it up yet and the work to prepare a spot for her has already begun. What kind of shape is it in? Are you planning on just fixing it up a little? A complete shell off restoration? We are leaning toward the latter but it's going to be a long tough road I think.

Got it home this evening with no problems. Took me a couple hours to track down a 7 pin connector so that I get some running lights for the trip home. After wiring up a 7 blade to 7 pin connection plugged it in and the lights worked. Prior owner was surprised to see that as he had never used them. The trailer's been parked since 2010. He was only using the trailer for storage. There's some soft spots in the floor near the battery boxes. Seems to be mostly solid everywhere else. I'm sure I'll be tearing out more than I currently think. This weekend I'll be giving it a more thorough exam. Yeah I know you're supposed to do that prior to the purchase but what can I say, I had visions of airstreams dancing through my head.
