Congrats, but we won't tell you anything until you post some pictures and tell us about your new Airstream!

The seller was handling mine for a friend of his who decided he wasn't up to the task of restoring this one. That friend wound up buying the other one instead.

Here are some photos and more information.

My family owned an Airstream when I was a kid. My sister and I were reminiscing about it on Saturday. She went on Craigslist found this one for sale. She took a good look a the pics and got VERY excited. She texts me: "believe our old airstream is on CL. sent you a link." I took a look, called the guy and the rest is history.

The triangular sticker in the back window was the clincher for Sharon. The can opener and shred of curtain was the clincher for me. Once we saw it in person there was no question.

The exterior skin is in very good condition. The interior is in poor condition. Water and rodents. Good news is all the hardware and cabinetry pieces are there, so we can make patterns for re-manufacture of the rotted woodwork after we gut it.

It looks like we have a complete gutting in our future. Will post additional pictures later.

Thanks!

Yes, it's come back to the family! Verified by serial number, title history, chain of ownership...the works.

Sad to see the deterioration but exciting to be able to bring it back!

If those are the original WBCCI numbers, you'll have to try to see if they are still available (they may have been reassigned). What an exciting find!

How awesome is that--to rebuy your family's Airstream you used as a kid and put it back right. Very cool. Enjoy it.

Awesome Find! Welcome to the forums! Very exciting! Ask any and all questions about restoration as you go along... lots of help to be found here! Also, take a zillion photos as you disassemble and such, you will use them for reference when putting it all back together!
Have fun!

Excited and scared too! I don't want to blow it and mess up the restoration, so I'm reading up on everything I can!

That's the coolest coincidence!
You were meant to have it back.

If that's the same one you grew up with, you've definitely made a good purchase. There may yet be a LOT of money to spend, but it's the Airstream you traveled in as kids... congratulations!!
