Congratulations and welcome! Thats a crazy coincidence, but it will make for an extra cool project. Dont be too scared of the Full Monty jitters, we all get them. Just remember it is a big project with many phases. Just take it slow and read up on all the 60s trailer threads you can find. You will have a some new memories to make with an old friend, good luck!

More pictures of the interior. We haven't started any of the tear-out yet but we can tell there's nasty stuff lurking under the surface just from the smell!

Congratulations on a great find and story! I'd advise not to read every possible thread here, as some don't end well, and might be discouraging.. Remember there are a lot of ways to bring an Airstream back to happy usefulness, and some involve finding the right helper and a healthy checkbook..

Sounds like a reunion that was only a matter of time. Your GT finally found you! I would take many digital pictures and from different angles. I found the past episodes of The Vintage Airstream Podcast | Vintage Trailer Resotration, very helpful. Airforums, of course. Sounds like you and your family have a long history with Airstreams and this GT in particular. You'll be just fine!

Thank you for the warm welcome and helpful hints. I've started a repair and restoration thread in the '62 GT forum: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f134...ml#post1193094
Further adventures will shared under this new thread. Thanks again!
