Wisconsin Newbie

We just purchased an Airstream Overlander. The previous owner couldn't provide us with a lot of information as she is 85 years old. Because she was unable to track down the original title, she provided us with a bill of sale and we are working on a replacement title. We have found a five digit number by the entry door and are trying to find out more about the camper with this bit of information. Is this a VIN or a serial number or what? We have gone on-line to research this and everyone is telling us we need far more numbers than this. Can anybody help us find out more information as far as other websites to use or can you tell us where we might find more numbers?

Thanks for your help.

Pete & Jill.

Pictures of the AS would help along with the VIN numbers. Post what you can. Thanks, Bubba

We need a pic of the outside of the trailer and the number on the plaque by the door. That is all we will need. If no pic is available, how many end cap panels are there in the front, 13, 7, 5 ?

13 panels. Plaque number 07426. Welded on the inside of the tongue frame is CO463KT.

No picture yet to share. Thanks for your help.

My best guess would be a 1957 Ohio built 26’ Overlander. California switched to 9 panels in 1957. Ohio lagged behind. Your VIN falls within the O-7359 to O-7593. You go to vintageairstream.com photo archives to see photos and info.
What do you think StevieB?

Thanks for all the help on figuring out the year. It will be easy to remember the year of that it was built because it is as old as me.
