Lightbulb Where Were You Six Years Ago!

I have a 1961 Bambi, the love of my life. She has needed much repair and it has been slow going. When I first got her I felt as though I was the only one out there. Couldn't find anyone that knew anything. Finally discovered Inland RV and a few others. But NOW I am overwhelmed the the availability of information. Thank you ALL!

I have had lots of help redoing the inside. She had no plumbing, ie. pump etc. no battery, water heater was rusted, toilet did not work. You get the picture. A big repaired dent in the right rear with an 8 x 14 patch. Barbed wire scratches on the entire right panel behind the door.

So, not to bore you here, I will just say how great it is to find this site and to begin being a participant.

Welcome to the forums. We weren't here 6 years ago - at all. But.. we are now so, isn't it time for a new project?

Thanks Janet,

Would be nice but I already have a new project and that is a house. So unfortunately Bambi has been in hibernation (restoration wise) for over 2 years.

Lets see - six years ago we had the VAC and VAC list - then Airstream Central, then Hunters list, then the Forums and later the Airstream corp Forums - not to mention numerous blogs along the way.....

Welcome to the forums. I am happy you found us. Where was I six years ago? I was a chaplain in a children's hospital and the only aluminum I knew about was used in building materials and maybe bed pans.

I myself AM a 1961 Bambi!!

Well, maybe I'm more of a Thumper. 1961 was a great year!

Glad to see your bringing your older Bambi back to life.

Ah yes, tell me, what does the CCD stand for? And should I say welcome to you as well? I see you are a relatively new member as well.

Also, this site has been making me crazy ever since I registered. All I want to do is finish her. But first I have to finish my house. I've been at it for 2 years. It is an Earthship. Hope to finish completely within 2 years. Landscape and all.
