What's in my backyard this morning???

After making it mine on paper last Wednesday, brought the newest member of my family home last night. '72 Safari 23'. Couldn't be happier after searching for months for the one that said "please take me home". The best piece of advice I got from reading these forum pages was: For a first time owner, it might be better to spend a little more money and hold out for something that you can use, rather than a trailer that you will have to look at for months, wishing you could use.

I've got some work to do, but I could hook up right now if I wanted to and take off to parts unknown. That indeed is a great feeling as I look towards my back yard. Isn't that why they call it "Safari"??

Also to acknowledge the help from a forum member who answered the call to help me drag the ole girl 250 miles, a huge thanks to "Silverhobby! Thanks all.

Congratulations Tinbender

Get ready, Tinbender. The long Thanksgiving holiday weekend will be here soon. And now that you have the Safari in the backyard, the urge to go off for the weekend will be even stronger.

Tinbender, welcome! Hope you enjoy your new toy! Hope to see you on the road soon.
If you need parts the folks at Out of Doors Mart are easy to deal with.
Lots of great places to camp not so far away from Shelby too.

Mrs. NorCal Bambi (traveling in S Tardis)[/quote]

Here goes the pics. No flamingos yet but did include the birdbath and blueberry bush. Everything I need to get started on all the chores is displayed on the front goucho. Tool bag, maglite, duct tape and Buster the weiner hound. Rained hard today and only found 2 small window leaks. I consider myself lucky.

Maiden voyage tentatively slated for Kings Mtn. State Park. Exact date TBD, but soon. Thanks for all the support.

You are in for a real treat. I can't get over how many thumbs up, big smiles and approving wave you get on the road. I wish A/S people had a cb channel that they used. It is so exciting to see another one on the road. You will want to just talk to them and see if they like it as much as you.
Have many great silver s-miles

72 Safari pics

Gonna try to do these pics one more time. If this fails, well I guess you have to use your imagination. That won't be too hard, you have a head start. Tinbender

Nice!

What a beautiful Airstream. It looks to be in excellent condition for a '72. You must be very pleased with your purchase. I particularly like the little stuffed dog with the shiny eyes guarding the duct tape. Have fun, and remember you can always camp in the back yard!

That looks like a really nice Safari ready to roll CONGRATS... OK so what's the story with the taxidermy dog? It's cute, but is that for real? Please do tell..

The dog is real and his name is Buster. He loves to play fetch in the yard.

Congratulations Tinbender.

Your new addition looks great. We've always wanted a Safari with two axles.

We also like your long haired dachshund - what a great traveling companion.

Happy trails,
