What's in a name?

Finally got our Airstream, a 73' Safari. We were advised not to change the name? We not only would like to change the name, but change the gender from male to female...Don't see why our Land Yaght can't be female, but were new and don't want to jinx the trailer??-----any advice?

Welcome to the forum. By all means go ahead and change the name to whatever fits your fancy. Airstreams are gender neutral and can be all four, five or six depending on persuasion.

Shouldn't touch this one with a ten foot pole, but shucks, here goes. We took our two little female barn kitties to the vet last summer for getting "fixed." Oops, one came back neutered: our she was a he! Well, looks like your "he" turns out to really be your "she!" Our Rowdy Girl became Rowdy Boy, and as Shakespeare said, "All's well that ends well." Happy naming your new girl

Several different opinions on this forum about name change, do we really want to start another debate? I say it's your trailer now and you can call him/her/it whatever you like. BTW, what is the old name / new name?

Welcome to the Forums from a fellow Coloradan!

Name "it" whatever you want...it's yours now! To be on the safe side, you could change it to Becky

Come check out the RMVAC in August...see link below ~

Thank's Shari, Looking forward to Creed, just up the road from Alamosa. We've only had "her" since Jan. brought her up from CA. was a smooth trip.
Our first outing will be the Sand Dune's next month. We will come up with a new name after we get to know her better...Thank's to all who replied about the name---make's us feel better about changing it, since we were going to anyway!!---

Smile Be sure to post your trailer's new name!

Congratulations on your new trailer! There's a great forum thread that's fun to read with lots of trailer names here
Best wishes and happy camping.

Unlike seagoing vessels, it is not generally considered bad luck to change the name of your Airstream.
Why, just this morning I temporarily changed Goliath's name to "Rotten old Piece of S***"...

I would give you karma for this one but the %$@&*% system wouldn't let me so I give it here. That was good, still laughing.

Here is one name change I support.

Just to ley you know the PO of our trailer had a name for her/him - piece of #$%&. Our name, Buttercup, is much better.
