We've finally done it now!

After dreaming about and trolling craigslist for many years we find ourselves with a sexy 1966 safari sitting in our driveway. My 10 year old can't stand it when I say it's sexy which makes me say it more often of course. It is mostly original which is to say little has been repaired or replaced as it had become a campground trailer for many years. We are both terribly excited and a bit overwhelmed at all of the work ahead of us. The fresh water tank is gone as is the furnace and the propane system has not been run in years. We are assessing the situation and trying to build the confidence to tackle the things we can do ourselves and to find good people to do the work that we can't which will include a new axle assembly as we plan on turning this back into a road worthy boon docking machine. Which brings us to finally registering on the forum and hopefully making some connections to help us along on our airstream journey. For the record our names are Jeremy and Ruth and we will apologize in advance for the nonsensical questions we may be posing in ALL of the forums over the near and distant future. If there are any vintage owners in the St. Paul Mn areas that are willing to serve as mentors, share knowledge, or just laugh with(not at) us we would love to make your acquaintance.

Very nice for young folks to grab a project....and, having lived in Minneapolis in 1966 as a photographer, I am hoping you give us nice photo coverage of the progress. My best wishes for an uneventful restoration....
