Gary,

Congratulations! My wife and I picked up our Flying Cloud last weekend from BT Campers in Wentzville, MO. They had at least one of their service techs with us for almost 4 hours. They covered everything from front to rear, installed a weight distribution hitch, and took us on a test drive.

It sounds like it is a common practice for Airstream dealers to spend time with us after a purchase. We felt it was a better, more relaxed environment than buying a car. We did have a few minor speed bumps, but an overall good experience. Everyone at the dealership was great.

Now we need to plan a weekend get away...

Picking up 2011 Sport 22FB next week

I'm picking up a new Sport 22fb next week and am having your dual battery setup intalled by the dealer. Was going to go with a solar panel on the roof but there is very little room there and you have to drill a hole for it...the refirgerator vent is not on the top in this model. So I will wait till after the 2yr waranty is out before I go with a panel if I do then. I am looking at using a batteryminder with solar panel and charge controller to maintain the batteries while I have it stored and while it is parked.

This should be a good setup. I am hoping to upgrade the batteries to AGMs for the maintenance free aspects and the longer life.

Thanks for your info!

Tony, good for you... You can also buy solar panel units that come with a stand that you would need to setup every time you use it. I would run with the dual battery setup for awhile to see if you really need to spend the money on solar.
