I can't think of a Pro. Con is cost of the cover, climbing up there to cover the unit, and possibly damaging something. The AC is designed to be out in the weather.

The plastic A/C shroud is already a cover for the A/C unit. It's not actually part of the air conditioner. Adding a cover to protect a cover is a waste of time and money. And as tvketchum so rightly pointed out, installing and removing a cover for your cover can be unsafe.
