wannabe - just retired

Having recently retired at age 71, I realize that if I leave the tent rolled up and buy that used Airstream, I really don't have to return very often!

Hi Ken, welcome! We're glad to have you here. If you do buy that Airstream, you'll have a very supportive and helpful community here to help you with any issues (oh yeah, and we're a lot of fun to camp with, too!) Good luck, and congrats on your recent retirement!

Be Careful!

Please spend a little time looking.
The off season is the best time to buy, if there is one where you live.
If there is a inspection service available you might consider the expense worth it.

Congrats on the retirement and welcome to the forums! I say "go for it" and don't look back. But, yes, be careful in the search and get a good one. This is a great place ask for help. Everyone is soooo helpful. Enjoy!

Hello, kenk; I am 69. I retired last July after buying our '66 TradeWind. With retirement you will soon wonder how you ever had time for a job. With that in mind I must caution you if you are going to buy an older AS to carefully or have it carefully checked out. We like ours and weren't too terribly surprised that some things will wear out on our watch. That will happen but it will be easy to discover a nice looking AS then find yourself spending your camping time repairing and replacing things. There are lots of tips in the Forum listing categories and in the Search tool to guide you to avoiding a time consuming rennovation that you are not ready for.
