Vintage Trailer
I am new to this site, and wanted to introduce myself.
I purchased a 1956 Spartan that is 40ft long. I know its not an Airstream, but it has the same type of construction. (Airplane grade aluminum frame, and aluminum skin.) It doesn't need alot of work, but the only thing that I am having trouble with is polishing the aluminum. Some people have suggested the Cyclone, does anyone know of anything else that brings a mirror shine, that doesn't cost $300 bucks.
I am also intrested in group camps or rallies in Oregon and Washington.

Welcome! Have you checked into the Tin Can Tourists? They have a great rally every August near Mt. Baker in Washington. Might be quite a haul for you, but there are a couple of Spartans that attend each year and it's a blast!

Lots. I use a auto buffer and an esoteric combination of mystery compounds. I will tell you, but I have to kill you if you read past this point. Colonel Brassy Metal Polish, Zep 5 Star Polish, any auto store tripoli based rubbing compound and rouge based polish. My favoite stuff was given to me by a trucker. It was a home brew called Louisiana Gator Piss. It's a mixture of lighter fluid, liquid teflon and ground charcoal. It's now commercially made under the name Cooper's. I got a set of 3 color coded wool bonnets for my polisher that's real handy. The important thing with a polisher/ buffer is it has to be able to run at fairly slow speeds to avoid scorching the aluminum

Lowe's
Go to Lowe's - go into the Metal Truck tool box aisle, and next to the toolboxes, about head height, there will be a small box of polish called Diamond Brite - Metal truck toolbox polish - get a cheap $40 -$50 polisher / buffer that is cirular with a few wool bonnet compounders - and get to work!
