Veterinarian Offering Low Cost Care in IA...Searching for Airstream

Hello!

May name is Abby, and I am on the hunt for an Airstream for my veterinary business. I am a strictly mobile vet. I treat mostly small animals although I treat any animal of any size if acupuncture is needed (pain in small animals, reproductive issues in large animals yada yada).

I would love to hear any and all suggestions for the recommended size of trailer. My vision is that my family can travel with me to certain destinations, and we will camp in the back 1/2 of the trailer while the front 1/2 is for my patients & clients.

I should say now...I do not have a ton of cash to spend. My husband's job is finished this Friday, and we are looking at expanding my current travel distance in order to open more opportunitites for the whole family. I should also mention that if someone has a dusty gutted trailer needing a home we are up for the challenge. Marc is able to do most everything, and I attribute this to being a farm kid.

I started my business on a very small budget. I started off only working in TU/Th nights & weekends. The rest of the time I was a stay at home mom. I offer house calls as well as low cost wellness clinics (aka good basic care at an affordable price for owners).

Thank you for reading my post. I would love to know if anyone has any leads on an Airstream (sort of set on Airstream as I have been dreaming about a mobile vet business in one for...well...10+ years). Also...if you can think of 'do & don'ts let me know (size...type...etc).

What a fascinating plan! Many of us travel with pets. I don't know of any Airstreams in your area, but would make one suggestion, concerning your tow vehicle. This would be to use a pick-up truck with a cap (canopy) on the back. Ours adds considerable storage space for all kinds of gear to an otherwise small unit.

Be careful of craigslist and ebay as many times scammers put out fake listings.

You'll need a big one to start with if you and the family are only going to live in the back half of it... And I don't know what you meant by large animals, but would a horse even fit into an Airstream? It sounded like you were planning to treat the animals inside...
