Tips for Traveling with Infant

The wife and I just had our first child and bought our first Airstream. How's that for timing?

We're gearing up for a two week trip to New Mexico and Colorado (mostly boondocking), and was interested to see if the folks on the forum had any advice, wisdom, prayers, condolences, etc. specifically for traveling/camping with an infant?

Would also be interested to hear stories from any other brave souls out there who have changed diapers on the dinette.

Thanks!

Tips for Traveling with Infant

Bring way more diapers than you think you will ever need.

If you use formula, mix only with freshly opened bottled water. Bring more of both than you think you will ever need.

Be prepared to take it slow and easy.

Maintain your sense of humor, and get as much rest as you can. We took our 8 month old youngest son tent camping out of our '77 Volvo station wagon with his two older brothers from San Diego to the Canadian border and back.

10 years later I found a can of expired formula and a pack of diapers stashed in the spare tire well....from that trip.

Yes, we converted a van and camped in it the next time.

Now he is the one that started the family into Airstreaming. And yes, all three of them made Eagle and still love camping.

In New Mexico be sure to look up Pie Town, the second weekend of september, for the Pie Festival. Camping is free in the town park but the pie costs.
