Try sending one with no links in the message and no images attached. You need to get past ten posts before those will go unaided.

My best tip for first-timers…

When in doubt, ASK!

Fellow campers are usually willing to help with whatever problems you may have; we all remember when we were first-timers.

Hello! My husband and I are new members! We just purchased a 1995 25ft Airstream Excella. We are very excited to start our camping adventures when this Southern snow storm passes! However, we are not new to camping, just new to the Airstream! I have a family member who owns an Airstream and that is how we got started! The rest is history! Looking forward to meeting nice folks and making new Airstream friends!

Welcome. You have come to the right place- lots of friends a and good information. Too bad the weather had to interfere with your first trip. Hopefully spring will be here soon. Good luck.

...glad you found your way to Airstreaming and the forums. You will love it. I hope we have an early spring so we can roll out!!! Looking out the window right now though, with snow on the ground here in SC, Spring seems a long way off.

Hi ya'll!

Tom and Loretta here, we dragged a 1991 29 foot Excella home last weekend.

I must have bought this thing with my eyes closed, boy, does it need a lot of work.

Worst is sub floor repair/replacement.

I know there is a ton of info, but it's hard for me to search through all the results.

Can anyone post a link to a basic how to floor replacement?

Thanks, even with all the warts, I love this trailer!

Congrats on your new drag home. Sounds like fun. I have found the easiest way for me to search this forum is in the google bar not this forum. Just type on your question, ie "replacing the sub floor in and Airstream" and it will take you to the forum links to that discussion.

Ditto. Use the advanced google search under the search tab on the portal page.

The floor is bad in the back, the bathroom, the front and by the door. I guess it's time for a new floor. I also have a lot of dents, 2 in the roof I didn't see until we got it home.

I am pretty upset that I paid so much for a unit with so many problems.

I bought from a dealer thinking I would be more likely to get a solid unit. (Dealer stamps on floor, see how solid it is?) J D Sanders RV in Alachua Fl.

I know I have no recourse, but they really took advantage of a newcomer that didn't know what to look for.

Thanks everyone, I could use a hug.

The floor was bad in our bathroom and by the door. We didn't need to replace the whole floor, just patched to replace the soft spots. There are some pictures in our blog here.
