Tin Can Dreams and Wee Wind Wishes

Hi All,

I have to say after just a brief time of surfing through this forum it is a plethora of information.

Just yesterday I came out of a store and in the parking lot was an Airstream. It was an older model, and it really caught my eye - enough to have me Googleing today for some answers.

I came across the Wee Wind online, and it is the cutest little thing.

I am staying with family now for 10 months (inlaws) and everything has been in boxes. I want to create my own office space. I am unsure of where I will be living any time soon. My other half has a job that may have us traveling quite a bit.

I'll be here for a bit looking for answers. It would be nice to have a permanent office on wheels.

I look forward to learning from all of you, and perhaps joining your exclusive club

I'm already getting some wild ideas.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Airstreaming. Before you start shopping for an Airstream be sure to determine the size and weight trailer your tow vehicle can handle.

Thanks Dave.

Currently, there is no vehicle - LOL. So it's all up in the air.

I've got a good amount of time to research and really plan out what I want to do.

You also need to think about layouts! Some Airstreams dont have a desk/table, some so, there are so many out there, but Welcome!!

Avenuegirl,
Welcome aboard and good luck in your search. You may want to start in the classifieds section here. You never know what you're gonna' find.

The club isn't all that exclusive, but you will find the people here very friendly, informative, and helpful. Once you find your Airstream then the real fun begins.

Have fun and don't forget to keep us up to date on your ideas and search for an Airstream.

I love the old and the new. I may be looking for a shell.

Oh, FYI the albany craigslist had someone selling the innards of one of those 70's airstreams.

I'd like a 50's style exterior, with some 50's decor on the inside, but my business is video and computer related so there may be a flat screen tv disguised somewhere and compartments for computers, lights, cameras, etc.

I may be saving up for a few months here. I will definitely need some personalized modifications.

A toilet would be handy as well.

When I'm ready I'm sure it will make itself known.

For now I'll take notes on everything in here.

I've met other full timers who work out of their AS. There were 2 I've toured where the owners had a unit with twin beds. They just took out a bed & built in a desk/work area. Be sure to look under the bed to ensure it does'nt have permanent utilities there. It's easier the remove the other twin bed than to relocate a water tank or something else.
