Thinking of taking the plunge!

Hello all!

I am looking into options for a longer term travel from Western US to Argentina and am considering the airstream option. Does anyone have any experience in long distance travel, international travel or anything that might help me decide if this the wat to go? I am supper attracted to the life style and the plan would be to return the trailer to Costa Rica and park it on our lot there after the year long trip south. Im not sure about crossing the Darien Gap or boat with an airstream and Im curious about ease of travel headed south.

Look forward to hearing any insight!
