Dear brothers and sisters of the gleaming Airstream,

I am please to announce that our Airstreams maiden voyage begins on the 26-29th of march as we bring her "Aloha Dreams" to GA to be loved and readied for further travels.. My wife and I have registered with the Club WBCCI but have yet to recieve our numbers or info.. I do have one question that I would like to through out to this body of knowlegeable brethren, and that is.. Has anybody ever used a trailer dolly to move an airstream into a spot.. I have backed up uhauls but it is not my favorite thing to do.. I saw a trailer dolly and am wondering if it is an option.. Forgive my question, but I have plenty of brute strength.. it is grace I am lacking..lol thanks for your help in the meantime.

Practice, practice, practice!
You can use one of the dollies to move your trailer, but it is generally more trouble than it is worth (most powered ones are kind of pricey). Also, you won't have the advantage of having one at most campgrounds, so the best thing is to practice backing your trailer into place.
As a side benefit, it gives you a real warm fuzzy feeling when you can back the trailer into the campsite exactly where you want it the first time, and get complimented for doing so.

They're right. Practice and you'll amaze yourself. I had a real "I can't do it" attitude, and I lack both grace and brute strength. But surprise, surprise. After hours of back and forth, back and forth, whatareyoulookingat, back and forth, it happened. And it does feel ever so good.
You can do it!

Believe it or not, the longer trailers are easier to back than a short trailer. Who knew? Right? Like everyone else said, practice, practice, practice. It can be intimidating at first, but you can do it.

If that fails, some people have a hitch reciever installed on the FRONT of their tow vehicle, unhitch, rehitch to the front, and push the trailer into position.

But I think you'll do fine with after a few times.

Find an old shopping center parking lot, and practice parking the trailer between the painted lines. It won't take long, I was able to teach Marie how to back the trailer in an afternoon, and she had never even towed a trailer before, much less backing one up!
