Tank capacity questions

I have been living in my 1974 29ft airstream Sovereign land yacht for 3 years on my land in NM. I'm going to sell it and wondering if anyone know the capacity of the water tank and holding tank for this model. I wasn't given the book when I purchased it.
thanks
Annie

Annie,
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question.
I was just wondering if you were upgrading or quitting Airstreams.

Welcome to the forums. I hope you will still be travelling with an Airstream after you sell your present trailer.

Annie,
If you could give us your VIN # there are several places that we can look up your tank holding gals.
If you want to know just empty your tanks, and then use a 5 gal bucket and measure how many buckets it takes to fill your tanks.
Good Luck,
Abe

Hi Annie, welcome to the forum. My '73 has a 32 gallon fresh water tank, and the black tank is about 18 gallons (I think). Sorry, no grey water tank in mine. Yours is propbably pretty close to that. Somebody will have an exact answer for.

Jim

Assuming there's no difference between 1972 and 1974 models, I'll tell you what my owners manual says for 1972 models. The holdng tank is 14 gallons for Land Yachts and 21 gallons for International models. The water tank is 50 gallons for both International and Land yacht models.

Something sticks in my head about 1974 marking the introduction of the grey tank. My 1974 Argosy has a grey tank and IIRC Airstreams got them the same year. But then again ... my Argosy manual lists Auxiliary Waste Tank as if it were an optional equipment variable weight. You should be able to tell if you have a grey tank by having two waste valve pulls.

IIRC 1973 was the first year airstream offered the grey tank. It was an option on certain models. In 1974 they were standard equiptment. It had to do with the EPA and draining water on the ground. It was most likely the same on other brands of trailers as well, but most of them are at the bottom of a land fill by now.

Sorry, I thought it was an Airstream designation I hadn't heard of.
