Sunday Afternoon

I have ended up at this site a few times when needing to find out more about various aspects of my Airstream. This time it was an awning question and I discovered someone was offering a free one. I don't think it will fit our trailer, but wow - the sense of community among Airstream folks is amazing.

We bought an Airstream trailer 2 years ago. With 2 young children, my husband and I decided trailer camping was the way to go. After spending the day shopping for a new "cardboard box" trailer in the Idaho Falls area, I convinced my husband to skip that route and drive to Montana to check out an old Airstream advertised for sale in the Thrifty Nickel (I had always wanted one). He went the next day and called me on the way home to say that it was nasty, smelled like cigarette smoke, and was in terrible shape so he did not buy it. It was one of his most convincing tricks - I was shocked to see him pull up our driveway with a beautiful, shiny unit attached to his truck.

Were are now prepping it for a spring trip to Utah.
