I also tow a bigger camper with a smallish vehicle. Once it gets set up correctly it is amazing what a nice 3L diesel will pull.

Airstream's streamlined design and lower profile, and very stable independent suspension make them an easy tow compared to others of the same weight. Generic tow ratings of vehicles don't differentiate this quality, perhaps leading some to oversize what is actually needed.
