Small Project Trailer Needed!

Howdy Ya'll! My first time posting here. I'm soon to be looking for a fix-er upper trailer, something small, that I can pull behind my 1990 Toyota SR5 V6. The truck is pretty gutless at present, however I'll be making some mods on it to give it some more umph. I'm in Colorado. Any suggestions on where to look? I'm hoping to not spend more than a few grand to get the trailer, then put some blood sweat and tears into it to fix it up. It's going to be my ski trailer! I know that Airstream is the cream of the crop, but I'm open to imitation brands as well.

You might look at the TAB units, or a really small 13ft or 16ft or so vintage canned ham for your project. Most Airstreams that are applicable to your Toyota's abilities, are definitely more than a few grand.

It's a long way from home but looks like a good fit.

hi skihut and welcome to the forums...

with your chosen tv, trailer options are very limited.

while a vintage bambi/caravel might work with the 'yota,

they are pricey, even if needed a full monty redo.

50s/60s units are not great winter campers...

the windows arent well sealed and the sink conducts cold to the interior walls.

having used an airstream for many years of skiing and snow camping...

this venture takes planning.

uwe's made a great suggestion with the t@B,

really the t@b might be the ideal starter unit...

and it even looks like a swiss chalet!

cheers
