Shopping for Airstream

New to rv/trailer life/airstream! I am looking at an International 23D. It is new but with the 2015s out I wonder what kind of discount I should expect? I Love the look and feel of the airstreams and from reading the posts on the forem it sounds like a lot of fun/ interesting people own them. Thanks for your insights.

Are you looking at a new 2014 on the lot? I don't know if this holds true as it did for the 2012s when the 2013s were on the lot - but at that time, a little over 20% off sticker was reasonable. With improvement in the US economy, the increase in sales of Airstreams and the investment in the new manufacturing space there, I'm not sure whether you can still expect that. If its the right one for you, ask what their absolute bottom line is. If you're happy with that - snag it and enjoy the heck out of it :-)

Alternatively - set your own price at X% off sticker. Offer that and be prepared to walk if they don't like it. While they likely don't want to discount deeply, if its at the dealer - they've already paid for it and they'd love to have the sale before 12/31/15.

Good luck - let us know how you do!!

Oh - and yes, the world's most interesting people own Airstreams. Ask me how I know :-)

I bought a 2015 with the same discount offered on a 2014. I'm glad I went with the 2015 because of the "ducted air"

Of course I have no clue what that is because I haven't seen it yet.

Greetings fromthe Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. I agree; A 2014 should get you at least 20% below MSRP. Since you are looking at a 23 footer the ducted air is a non-issue as it startes at the 25 foot size.

Red face Purchased my first Airstream!

I just made the jump and purchased a new 2014 23D International Signature! The dealer in Nampa Idaho and my sales rep Steve Wells were great. Everyone at the dealership made the buying experience enjoyable and informative. I drove it home from Idaho to Salt Lake and it pulled like a dream. I am used to pulling a horse trailer and got to say it is much easier to pull a trailer without the rocking and rolling of the horses. I'm excited to take it out for a real trip.
