Searching in Reno
My wife Heather and I have gotten the AS bug! We are hoping to buy something to stay in for long stretches at a time. I am a travel nurse and working contracts of usually 13 weeks at a time. We are in an apartment in Reno now, and really want something of our own. We still own a house in Texas to use as a base camp, but only plan to return there occasionally. It may end up for sale if this all works out. Nevertheless, we will still call Texas home, and will probably buy another property there. Whatever happens, it is going to be a HUGE adventure for us all, as we have two of our children, age 6 and 7, along for the ride. They are really good travelers.
We recently visited with the Sierra Nevada Airstream Club up at Pyramid Lake. They were all kind to us and showed us around their RVs. We later called and went to visit club members Brian and Dianne, just north of Reno. We had a nice visit and toured their "covey" of Airstreams that they have collected. They were extremely knowledgeable and answered many of our questions.
We are now looking into a 1974 AS that is for sale in Las Vegas. We hope to either get down there ourselves to look it over, or find some kind soul to look at it for us. There is only so much you can tell from photos! Wish us luck,
Stephen and Heather Hall
