Salutations from Montana
Greetings,
First time Airstreamers (and trailer owners for that matter) here, we took the plunge and acquired a 2011 Flying Cloud 23' FB this past summer. We've been outdoors people our whole lives and thought it might be time to go in style .
Him: 42, Her: 56, Them: Cardigan Welsh Corgis (Eddie and Scout)
It's just been fantastic. In fact, I've finally found time now that the 'Stream is all winterized and space heated and sitting under 20" of snow to say hello to the community!
We started with few weekend trips and then off on a loop from Missoula, MT through Idaho, Nevada, into California via Mono Lake to the coast and Big Sur and back again through Reno and Idaho Falls. And it didn't even snow until the morning after the Airstream was parked safe at home and it's been dumping ever since!
Great forums: friendly, helpful, incredibly informative.
Hello and thanks to all, espcecially those of you who keep airforums functioning!

Greetings from Texas
We are still standing at the edge of the diving board getting ready to take the plunge. What's your tow vehicle? Looked like Tundra TRO pkg markings on the back but couldn't really tell.
I agree Forums is a great resource.

Hi Goal15,
Glad to hear you're going to take the plunge!
The TV is a 2005 Tacoma TRD, a V6 but very torque endowed, had no problem doing 45 mph up an 8% grade in Death Valley with full fresh water tank and supplies.
Although the gas tank is not very large and this truck gets thirsty with the AS in tow!
And thanks moosetags, we love this setup, it's been unquestionably reliable.

Hey Cloudflyer, nice rig. I see from other notes that the 23' CCD is a popular size. We really enjoy the heck out of ours. Instead of putting us in a "time warp" I tell my neighbor it's a "responsibility warp" - all cares and all chores and do-lists are forgotten. We just go play in the AS. We were up your way back in May-June, attending a straw bale construction workshop in Missoula for a week. Then we dared to enter Glacier Park for another several days. Enjoy your trailer. Oh, and we tow ours with a 2003 4Runner V6, 4 liter. Maybe same engine. Definitely struggles on the passes but otherwise is fine.

Welcome! Great trailer and great trip route. I'm currently in Portland and will be heading out end of year. Most likely toward Nevada, Arizona then maybe Colorado for some sking. I'm not familiar with this area too well, any recommendations for a safe trip route to the locations I mentioned...with some excursions along the way?

Cloud flyer:
I just put my order in for an International Signature Series 23' and expect to get it delivered in late March (totally a newbie). I am wondering if you have any suggestions on places to park around Missoula. My daughter is a sophomore at the UM and we plan on coming out this spring to see her. Your local knowledge is much appreciated. We have been there several times but have stayed at the Doubletree and want to use our new baby somewhere fun. We are big fly fishers so on or near a river is best. Thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Bigcgar

One of the Best Places on the Planet!
Welcome CloudFlyer!
While I don't envy your weather now (we have our own snow here), it would be nice to be as close as you are to world-class blue-ribbon trout streams! How wonderful to be so close to the best summer-chef at the Rock Creek Restaurant...gosh I wish I remembered the place's name, but I do remember the way there!
Maybe we will see you around on our next trip!
