Route suggestion-Dallas,TX to Perry, GA

Dallas to Perry Georgia,

I hear an Airstreamer on the way to the International Convention had a water-tank come loose due to very bad road conditions along I-20 through Louisiana.

We leave Dallas on Saturday June 23 and a parking date at Perry on June 26. Now I am searching for best routing to avoid the jarring roads.

Some routes to consider are:
  • I-30 to Texarkana, east on US-82 thru El Dorado-Arkansas then Greenville/Columbus Mississippi to Tuscaloosa-Alabama, Montgomery Alabama and pick-up I-85.
  • Take the most direct route (I-20), on the rough parts detour to old/historic US 80.
I’d appreciate any ideas you could share to avoid the bad road conditons in Louisanna,

Thank you, John

John,

I traveled I-20 from Monroe, LA west to Tyler, TX two weeks ago. That part is in good condition. Can't tell you about Monroe to Vicksburg.

Thanks for the road condition, that helps alot. I'll check if I-20 Monroe to Vicksburg is the bad part.
