Cool Richards

I've just finshed remodeling an "1968 Soveriegn 30' Air Stream".
This unit has been sitting in the oregon mountains amoungst the trees for 18 years. The interior was delaminated and moldy, but the interior framework was O K.. Now that the trailer is completed, I have two original folding bed frames with all the hardware left over. These bunks were mounted or stored above the permanent bunks.
These orginal folding bunks are made of 1" x 1-1/2" rectangle anodized aluminmum, hinged at the narrow ends with a locking pin. Each unit comes with, 2 side storage wall plates, 2 alum wall cleats, 2 ceiling plates and 2 hanging cables. Sorry, missing 2 out of 4 hanging cables and after 40 years the canvass should be peplaced.
Anyone enterested in wanting these, contact me at bcr7628@verizon .net

Good afternoon Richards-

Congratulations on your first post and on completing your project! Please post some pictures. We all love see the gret work of other AS owners. Also do you have a picture or two of the frames. I might be able to use them. The length measurement would help me decide!

Again, welcome aboard.

Welcome! Please post some pictures when you can - I'd love to see the work you did to your Sovereign! Also, keep an eye out for info on NW area forums rallies, as there's a great group here and we have a blast.

I would recommend posting an ad in the forums classified section to find a new home for your bunks.

Richard,
I have a 72 Soveriegn and would be very interested in one of the bunk set ups. I have the ceiling plates but nothing else. Mine originally had only one bunk due to the oven hanging out over the other bed. I will send you an email also.
Lets see those pictures!
Debbie

I have sold the bunks and both seller & buyer are now happy. The portable bunks will work out fine for an Air Stream family, Been there, done that. Now I have to learn how to put some photos on the thread,

Too late again. Oh well.

But I have 2 questions:
Will a bunk fit under the overhead cabinets or do they have to be removed?
Do you guess it would be fairly easy to make your own bunks?
