Remodel, fulltime living and a sewing machine!

Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself!! My manfriend and I just bought a '74 Soverign and over the next few weeks will be completely remodeling it, moving in and living there fulltime. I am a clothing designer and my manfriend is a software engineer so we've got some unique desires for the makeover! I'm about to scour the forums for info about what the hell the walls are made of, and how to replace the cabinets!

I'm suddenly terrified... I just read that at the very least a complete over-haul can take 800+ hours! Two people at 40 hours/week is TEN WEEKS! I think I'm going to be sick...

the sickness will pass, followed by obsession, then followed by more sickness, followed by more obsession.

You know your over the edge when 80% into your remodel you purchase your second trailer.

hi mary, congrats and welcome -- the time it takes will all depend on how much you need to do! replacing the cabinets may not be necessary for you to inhabit the airstream.... set priorities.....

Breathe... Breathe...

It's meant to be something you will enjoy. Think on it as moving into a new house. First you clean everything to see what needs to be done, then you fix things one at a time until it's ready, then you live & enjoy it.

For instance, our trailer isn't done:

We need an extra bed for one of our children, my DH intends to do it after the new year, until then my child sleeps on a camp cot.

We need a new fridge. We've done without cooking in it until we get it (Next month).

Remember, most people don't get one and do everything at once. We got our useable and now just work on projects at our leisure.
