Ready to take the AS plunge

Empty nesters (yay!) ready to get back to camping. Moving on from our tent trailer days we have been bitten by the AS bug and are looking. We like the Flying Cloud 25FB layout.

Big question for us, living in the humid south, should we buy new or refurbish.
I'll be looking through the posts to get more information (thanks to all) and help make the decision. I'll post a question on the filiform thread..

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

The 25FB is a super floor plan, plus it is easy to tow and maneuver. We have a 2005 25FB, named Lucy. We have spent 760 nights in Lucy, and have towed her almost 70,000 miles. We have not tired of her yet, and if we were buying new today, it would be another 25FB.

We bought Lucy new in 2006, but there are good used ones out there. Start with the classifieds here on the Forums. Also, shop a new one and see what you can get it for.

Brian

Thanks, Brian. Does Lucy have filiform corrosion / how do you treat if so?

We have a 25 Safari, purchased near new in 2004.
With one Penguin air conditioner, it will pull down the interior temp about 25 degrees below outside. We have the basic air conditioner. I think there is a higher btu option. When temperatures get 110+, it is hot in the trailer. You should be fine in the south east where temps don't get that high.
I agree with Moosetags, kick some tires, see what you like and what the prices are.

Yes, Lucy does have some of the filform corrosion. We don't really do anything about it. We just use the heck out of her. It's not very noticeable at any distance, so we just camp.
