Rally anyone??

Hello there to all.
Newbies to the forums and to Airstreams in general.
We are long-time campers but haven't been in recent years as the bones became too old for tenting. So now we are new AS owners and looking forward to enjoying the outdoors again...this time with a little more padding.
Noticed the rally's on the calendar but not sure if they're open to all or if a club affiliation is required. There are some local events in the next few weeks that look interesting. Some seem to be sponsored by clubs but we're not sure.
Any advice on attending a rally (or two)?

I was looking at the list of rllys in my area and saw a WBCCI listed close by. I than made reservations with the park and notified the rally leader that we would be camped at the park on those dates. My wife and I went and met several people we had met before but didn't know that they were members. We had a good time and met other chapter members and decided to join the unit.
Moral of the story; "GO FOR IT" that is the only way you will know. We have met two other camping groups this way.

Thanks Mike. Sounds like good advice. If the Airstreamers at the rallies are as friendly as the folks on this forum, we should be just fine. Gotta check out the WBCCI as well.

Airtandem is right! Anywhere you see an Airstreamer you're usually welcome. If you're not an official "member" of the group most will still welcome you with open arms (and encourage you to join, of course, but your choice).

Like you, we camped for 40 years and just got too old and stiff for tenting. This is our first RV. We started with an AS because we knew what we wanted. Welcome to the family. This forum is a GREAT wealth of knowledge and support.
