rail supports for argosy beds

We have a 1972 Argosy 20 footer in very good condition.however;I'm concerned about the bed rails. when you extend the beds out fully the outside edges tend to give somewhat. have the rail slides been improved over the years? also I'm looking for a stove top cover as well. thanks, brettc

We had a similar concern with our side gaucho - a simple fix was to fashion 2 chunks of 2 x 6 cut to the rail height (about 14 inches...) with a small slot in the center of one end for the rails to rest in - just slip 'em in under the bed frame -wedged to the floor, when you set up the bed - store them underneath or use for dandy levelers the rest of the time

A great idea Janet. I was wondering what I would do as well. Since I am a big and tall guy, this seem like a logical choice, to make sure I don't go bump in the night <G> Kev

Have a 78 Argosy. These Argosys didn't come with the range top cover like the Airstreams have. This limits the counterspace you have when the stove is not in use. I too would like to know where I could get that fold down stove top to fit my Magic Chef. Since these are the same stoves that are in the Airstream, surely you could put a folding top on them as a retro fit. Anyone done this?
