The Plunge

Tag! We're it: new owners of a 27' FB Classic and as soon as we add a TV, (likely a 07 or 08 3/4T Chevy/GMC DuraMax) we'll be on the road. We are unloading a 2007 Gulf Stream VCM (how sad the fit and finish items took a lot of joy out of what is a very dependable Sprinter chassis).

At any rate, "FAST" (Friends with Air Stream Trailers) - 1985 25' Sovereign & 05 28' Classic - showed us the evolution and durability of the product.

Looking forward to many more years of the outdoor life. Thanks to all those post(ers)s who have gone before and given my wife and I lots of solid information to read.

Now we'll be watching for other pretty metallic glowing rigs. Hello to all. See you in our viewfinder?

Congratulations!
You're gonna love the floorplan.
Seems to be very popular...last weekend we were one of four new FB Airstreams at the KOA in Petaluma!

Rivet Congrats!

You made a great choice!

We just recently purchased a 25FB and we love the floorplan, works great for how we live. Though that extra two feet of closet space you got sure would come in handy We have had two trips and five nights so far and the Airstream is super!

For a TV, we ended up going with the 08 3/4T Chevy DuraMax/Allison and are VERY glad that we did! Truth is, for more experienced towers, a 1/2 ton would have been sufficient, BUT I really like have the extra power and strength. This baby tows like a dream, I honestly have to look in the rear view mirror to remember that I am towing it! Very cool! With your 27ft you'll be really happy with the 3/4T.

Make sure you get the sway control hitch! Very important. We have the Reece DualCam something, it is great, but longer models seem to really like the HaHa (Henly).

The other thing that you are already discovering about AirStreams is that you have not just purchased something to camp in, you are joining a wonderful community of people!

Welcome

"FAST" (Friends with Air Stream Trailers) - I like it!

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Congratulations on your new baby!

We have one of the first FB's that Airstream made. Her name is Lucy, and we have spent over 200 nights in her. We still love the FB floorplan, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Safe travels,
Brian
