Congradulations on your new 1969 AS. Glad you did change the tires. When you said that you had replaced 2 tires, I was puzzled. Why not all of them? Then I saw your pictures. I don't think I have ever seen an AS that modern with 1 axel.

Again, glad you made it home OK.

Yup 23 feet on one axle. I also thought it was strange but I guess that is the way they were making them in '69.

the airstreams of yesteryear are/were much lighter than today's models. i think they started adding two axles for that size in 1971? i'm sure someone will chime in with the exact year.

congrats on your new find. it's a great feeling isn't it? which we could sell that in a bottle

Great pictures. Congratulations on your new baby. It is always exciting when a silver bullet shows up at home. They seem to beckon - take me camping, take me camping....

Given snow (geesh, it's early isn't it?) if you have not had a trailer before you may not realize that that the water system, including the toilet (and it looks like the water heater has gone AWOL) need to be drained completely of water, or potable water antifreeze run through the system.

We'll be watching for updates as you go through it and personalize it.

Yes the water is all drained. They have not used this baby for 4 years. The hot water heater was shot and he took the old one out but I do have the panel for it. I would say that is project #1 but there are so many projects... flooring, curtains, gaucho, top vent...

Good news is that it has a new A/C (looks like they spent some $$ on that) and everything towed solidly. Lights worked (at least all the important ones like turning and braking) and the ease of towing despite the wind and snow have already gotten us talking about a Moab trip in the Spring.

Nope...we got our first yesterday here in mile-high Denver. Taos is at approximately 7,000 feet...

I guess I live a sheltered life.................

Although I do know that the mountain roads east of us have had a dusting - it's still hard to believe we are on the downhill side of October and the "W" word will soon be with us.
