Thumbs up One year along...

My wife and I bought a new 30' Serenity and have been on the road off and on, with trips of 2 weeks to 2 months. Mostly in the west as we have family in Arizona, Oregon and Texas. We have met other AS owners at several parks, and found they are all about sharing experiences and the like. We are recently retired, but open to new stuff. Would like to look into some rally opportunities to get more involved in the AS life. Camping solo has its limitations, and having other folks to talk to and get to know would be a welcome addition.

We have made most of the rookie mistakes regarding the AS, the worst of which was not knowing vertical clearances and pulling the trailer where I shouldn't. Also, don't ever lock yourself out of your trailer, the locksets are darn near unpickable...

Welcome to the AS world!! Nice trailers and quality people - wherever you meet them. There are many AS ""clubs"" that schedule rallies and trips throughout the year - great opportunity to get to know others and learn from their experiences - plus the trips are well planned out and you are free to do as much or little of the scheduled tours as you like. Most evenings are spent playing board games or joining up with others to tell travel stories and compare notes. The WBCCI folks could put you in touch with a local group - and/or your dealer in the Houston area would probably know about them. Good luck - we belong to the North Texas Unit and really have made wonderful friends and have learned so much from the group!! Safe travels to you!!

The WBCCI is an old and great Airstream club. They have rallys and caravans much of the time. I highly recommend you join your local chapter and start participating in meetings and rallys. It is just nice Airstream folks socializing together. Many long term friendships have developed through this club.

Welcome from Colorado and enjoy your many upcoming Airstream adventures.
