Newbie taking delivery next Saturday
My wife and I are taking delivery of our 2018 27’ Globetrotter next Saturday. We are excited and apprehensive. BIG investment! We have been looking for awhile. I first joined this site in 2016. We have tried looking at S.O.B.’s (some other brand), but once you look at the quality of an Airstream, everything else seems like a waste of money.
I am looking forward to spending more time on this site.

Welcome to the party! Be sure to check your new trailer over carefully and be prepared for not everything being 100% perfect the first time you use it.
Beyond that I'm sure you'll love your new Airstream. We love ours, and while it's in storage 8 miles from home we joke about our baby being at daycare and having to drive over once a week to check on it.....

Welcome to the forum. It’s great to have you on board.
And congrats on your new GT! Like was mentioned, don’t forget to share some pictures.
Just curious which color combination you chose for the GT?

Greetings from Colorado: I'm glad you decided to participate here, especially as an owner. I agree with your assessment of the Airstream product. We were at a RV show in Denver and walked through many trailers and 5th wheels. After a couple three hours of that, we went to the Airstream display. Wow, what a difference in style, design, and quality appearance. Your new Airstream will last a very long time indeed.
Heck, my son has a 1969 Globetrotter 21'. I dare bet yours will be much, much better. His is the first year of the new body style. The layout of his trailer is not my favorite. And his corner wet bath is not good at all in my view. But he likes it and does a lot of boondocking around Colorado with it. The new Globetrotter like yours is a brand new trailer with an old, classic name dating back to the 50s.
Enjoy your new Airstream and learn all about it here. I find folks on these forums more than willing to answer any question that may come up. I never see sarcastic comments from a new persons questions. Folks here are just not like that. So have no apprehension asking a question like "Where's the battery?"

I have not seen this color combination in person but it looks beautiful in the pictures!
Did you purchase it with all the options?

Picked up our new Globetrotter last weekend. Taking it out on its maiden voyage this weekend. We had to look hard to find an open campsite. It is the start of spring break here.

Newbie Taking Delivery in Two Weeks
Hello. Congratulations to the OP on his new AS. I am excited for him/her as we are for our new AS.
I am also new to this forum and this is my first post. Our family is also taking delivery of a new AS 23FB at the end of the month. While not new to towing in general, the AS will be new to us in that regard.
We too went to the two Chicago RV shows. There were plenty of generic trailers there. The ASs were where the crowds were. Most ASs were already sold. Waiting times for delivery were months. We found a new one in Colorado.
I want to thank everyone here on this forum for their posts and experiences. I will post back our experiences.
Randy P and Cindy P (Illinois)

Hi ZOZ and welcome to the Airstream community. Airstream is selling everyone they can make. They are special trailers indeed. I hope your new one delights you in many ways. You will have to post some pictures of it when you get a chance.
I used to travel to LaSalle, Illinois on business years ago. Peru is close by. I'm from Iowa originally.
Air Forum participants are more than happy to answer any questions you may have as you learn all about your new Airstream.

Until the storm hit last night, everything was great. Small leak in the bath ceiling at a joint. Love the trailer, though.

I saw the "hurricane" chamber in the Airstream factory some years ago. The employees were all over the interior (gutted, no interior skins) looking and feeling for water leaks. Your dealer can find it and repair it easily. They should also report it to Airstream as I'm sure they will.
Maybe Airstream is using a "seal test" pressurized leak test system now. I should think that would be a more effective leak test. However, you are still dependent on a human spotting and fixing the leak.
Glad you like your new Airstream. Get ready for a little "buyer's remorse". It's normal.

Just got word from the service department at the dealer that the A/C unit was not torqued down properly at the factory. Easy fix, fortunately. Should be back on the road next weekend.
